Hamburg – Meyer Werft has awarded Imtech Deutschland the title of “Partner of the Year 2007” in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Technical Systems. The presentation of the awards to the winners in the 5 categories took place on 24 January 2008 at the “Alte Werft” in Papenburg, in the presence of more than 100 partner companies.

The deciding factor in the “Partner of the Year 2007” award was Imtech’s contribution to the “Norwegian Gem”, which was delivered in September 2007. “Thanks to numerous joint projects with Meyer Werft in recent years we have developed optimised technical concepts for air conditioning technology and a closely coordinated logistical system. Our team benefitted from this in the work on the “Norwegian Gem”, enabling them to ensure a smooth and trouble-free workflow. Which is why the jury were convinced by our performance this year,” says Georg Bieler, Director Shipbuilding/Dockbuilding. Imtech Deutschland can look back on an uninterrupted history of cooperation with Meyer Werft in Papenburg since the late 1980s.

In the years ahead, Imtech Shipbuilding/Dockbuilding is to further focus its activities on the fast growing market for cruise liners. By 2012, Imtech will be equipping a total of six cruise liners with energy-efficient solutions for air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems for the North German shipyard. These projects will be the biggest cruise liners ever built in Germany.
