Billions will be invested in German airports
In Germany, Imtech is structurally involved in the expansion and upgrading of airports. In Frankfurt, where Imtech has realised a number of terminals in the past, Imtech recently provided the technical infrastructure for the expansion of a terminal specially built for the Airbus A-380, the largest passenger plane in the world.
Another major project recently was the technology for a new passenger building at the Berlin-Tegel airport, including the complete security system.
Several German airports have investment plans that will pro-bable include substantial technological projects for Imtech. Frankfurt Fraport for instance wants to grow from 60 to 100 million passengers, a plan which involves an investment of EUR 2 billion. Munich is investing 2 billion to enable growth from 40 to 60 million passengers. And finally Berlin is up to making decisions about its airport infrastructure for the future.
