These days, about 400,000 airplanes land and depart at Amsterdam airport Schiphol each year, and that number is growing every year. Since the number of takeoff and landing runways will not increase for the time being, Schiphol needs new solutions to guarantee the availability and safety of the take-off and landing runways.
