Goodmarriott & Hursthouse celebrate stadium success
Nottingham-based M&E contractor, Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, part of the Imtech UK group, celebrated the recognition of Sir Robert McAlpine and the Arsenal Stadium at recent industry awards.
The £275m Emirates stadium project, which Sir Robert McAlpine completed on time and under budget, with the electrical work completed by Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, was awarded Building Magazine Building Awards 2007 – Project of the Year.
The award looked at buildings that achieved outstanding functionality, were visually attractive and pushed forward the sustainability agenda – all areas that the Arsenal Stadium performed exceptionally well.
More than £35m of extra work was incorporated into the programme during its construction, but this did not affect the programme. The judges commented: "The way that this team tackled design changes should be a lesson to the industry on how to move forward".
Goodmarriott & Hursthouse were finalists for the Building Services Awards - M&E contractor of the Year.
