Imtech Energy Lab opened by Hogeschool (University) Rotterdam and Imtech Infra

April 11 2011

Rotterdam - Infra Imtech (technical services for the infrastructure market in Europe) and the Hogeschool (University) Rotterdam have started the Imtech Energy Lab. A laboratory with training arrangements for the practical lessons of energy technology.

Mason Hatton, managing director of Imtech Infra The Netherlands: "Increasingly, students depend on their internship or graduation in business for gaining experience with the practice of the profession. It is in favour of the student and the final employer, prior to the internship to learn about the daily application of energy technology. We are pleased that our experience and material can contribute."

To support practical education, Imtech Infra together with the Rotterdam University have designed, built and facilitated the Imtech Energy Lab.
Ostara de Jager, chairman of the Institute of Engineering and Applied Science at Rotterdam University: "This partnership with Imtech is an example of how the current education and industry can complement and reinforce each other. We are pleased with the support and expertise we received from Imtech. It is inspiring to see how the theory from the school comes alive as the students have valuable practical experiences in the lab."

The opening act was performed by Alexandra van Huffelen, alderman Sustainability, Centre and Outdoor of the Municipality of Rotterdam.
