High-tech contribution to German power stations

February 24 2010

Use innovative solutions to increase burning efficiency from 46% to approximately 60%. This is the ambitious target set for the construction of a new power station in the German town of Stade near Hamburg. Imtech Deutschland is providing 'the heart' of this high-tech project by Dow Chemical.

The big increase in burning efficiency will be achieved by reducing the use of traditional coal and increasing the proportion of natural gas. High-tech energy technology will make it possible to optimally use the hydrogen released during burning as an extra source of energy.

In the prestigious construction of the power station, Imtech is responsible for steam recovery and is providing facilities including the ingenious heating of the feed water system and vapour reduction and distribution, including all connecting engineering solutions. The project calls for a complete package of basic and detailed engineering for the delivery, assembly, start-up and testing of systems.
The order for this high-tech sustainable technology proves that Imtech is building on its already strong position in the German market for energy solutions
