Tuesday ment for us saying goodbye to the member of the Nova-team and then finally start working on our own project.

But before we took off to Durban, we first went for a visit at the Cuddle Company, they work like the same principle and have the same General Manager as the Ubuntu Company.

This factory is located in a village in Bronckhorst-Spruit, in that village there are several kind of accommodations where also sick children are staying (some terminal), the factory produces cuddles.

We are welcomed by the Production Manager, he gives us some explanation and a tour through the factory. They just started on a new cuddle named Syl, the last one; Zep (a Zebra-Parrot) is very popular. The production is quite labour-intensive, so a lot of people are employed to do the job. They use a lot of bright colors and it looks African.
Most employees sit behind a desk and work with a sewing machine. Besides a salary, everybody also gets a warm meal everyday as a lunch.

At the end we also get a small tour over the rest of the village, we unfortunately have to catch a plane and so don’t have enough time, cause everything is quite interesting and good what they all do here.

In the afternoon we arrive at the Ubuntu Company in Durban, where de Plakkies are made. Just when we arrive, the working day is over and all the people leave the building, waving and singing. These people are really happy to work at the Ubuntu Company and are all very proud of the Plakkies. Which gives us a warm and welcome feeling.

A first contact is then made with the General Manager and Production Manager.
