Today we started at 9. Before that we had the usual breakfast of baked eggs, bacon and sausages, with rooibos thee or coffee off course.

The plan was to go and visit some daycares in Sunnysite, which is a neighborhood in Pretoria where mainly black people live. The group was divided in two, we first went to the supermarket to get some presents like candy and footballs for the kids and chocolate for the teachers.

Then the first group went to a daycare center for the poorest kids named Sun Sparrows, where we could give the teachers a hand and giving attention and play with the kids and serve lunch. The kids were very enthusiastic and craving for attention, physically and emotionally. All was very impressing. We stayed for a couple of hours.

The other group went to a nursing home, where besides daycare for kids, they also provided food for the homeless. We got to serve the food and give them items to take care of themselves like, soap, shampoo and razors. The kids sang some songs for us. Besides giving food they also offered classes, like today there was a bible class for the homeless (this is a subject they chose themselves). The aim is to eventually help them finding a job. Everything was very interesting.

These kind of visits make you realize that you should be so happy for what you have. And how big the contrasts can be. Also it is very inspiring that there are people that choose to give their life by helping the homeless or poor kids. This makes you think about your own choices and goals in life.

After lunch we started to discuss the planning for the coming 2 weeks.
The Plakkies team, decided to visit the Cuddle company tomorrow, this factory also belongs to the Ubuntu company and works by the same strategy, only by making cuddles. The Plakkies team, will after that fly to Durban to work there for the rest of the week.

The Nova team will continue the work already really started by putting together the measuring systems: Plugwise. And discussing on how to approach the people, where we have to install the Plugwise, etc.

Tonight after dinner we will have a small party because the Plakkies-team (Raymond and Lisa) are leaving tomorrow for Durban.
