Tuesday 28th of October 2008 – A very important day in the process
I woke up very early this morning, around 6 am. So I went outside and sat on a bench in the garden of our guesthouse, summarizing the lessons learned in Soweto yesterday for our report. We found out there is not a lot of cooking oil to collect in Soweto. But there were also positive experiences, like our visits to the households and the school. People were very enthousiastic about this collecting project. Yet Ifelt a little bit concerned about the project.
We have gathered so much information, but there is still so much uncertain. Besides that, there was some tension in our group. Understandably in a project like this where you’re on a rollecoaster of emotions, being in a team of four people you don’t know who all have very different characters. But Bart and I went for a run at 8 am. Running up and down the hills, under the marvellous Jacaranda trees with purple flowers gave me a lot of energy. I felt confident again we can fulfill the job.
We spent the day discussing the logistic model with our Greenfusion teammembers. That was also a satisfying experience. Our ideas match and all the little ends are starting to come together. We have a frame and tomorrow we can spend filling it in. So today was a very important day in the process. The day ended wit a pool party at one of the guest houses. A really good way to relax together and just have fun for a moment.
