Department of Physics of Medicine, University of Cambridge

Imtech Aqua Mechanical Services Ltd have successfully completed a £2.7m contract for Willmott Dixon Construction for the installation of mechanical and electrical services to a new research and teaching facility for The Physics of Medicine in Cambridge. The facility is sited next to the world-famous Cavendish Laboratory, home to the Department of Physics at West Cambridge, the University's expanding science and technology campus.

The three-storey building brings together researchers from a range of disciplines and professional backgrounds allowing the integration of the University’s research and teaching of the physics of medicine, through the creation of a suite of open accessible research laboratories, teaching rooms and administration.

The building has an automated system to maintain the specific pressure regimes and temperature requirements necessary for a state of the art research facility, all of which were designed and installed by Imtech Aqua Control Services Ltd.

Russell Pope, Project Manager for the University of Cambridge commented; ‘Aqua were committed to the co-operative team approach to project procurement and worked well to deliver the mechanical and electrical services, on time and on budget. Aqua’s contribution has helped to ensure the Physics of Medicine project was a success for everyone involved’”
