Pieter Bloemendaal Managing Director of Royal Dirkzwager

As of 1st November Pieter Bloemendaal will become Managing Director of Royal Dirkzwager in Maassluis. In 2004 Bloemendaal became a partner in Dirkzwager Consultancy & Development BV and he has been Manager Strategy & Product Development at Dirkzwager for several years now.

Bloemendaal (52) started his career at the office of Nedlloyd shipping lines and he has worked at several stations, among which USA, Japan and New Zealand. During those years he learned all the aspects of the national and international shipping.
Later he became Managing Director Inland Shipping and Intermodal Services at Royal Nedlloyd. With his vast experience in shipping and his extensive network Bloemendaal will provide a great contribution to the Dirkzwager organisation and activities.

Pieter Bloemendaal will succeed Frans van Hoorn, who will retire on 1st November, after a career of forty years in the shipping and transportation industry, of which he spend the last ten years as Managing Director of Royal Dirkzwager.

Royal Dirkzwager is an indispensable link in the communication and information exchange in Rotterdam and other North-western European harbours. Dirkzwager collects, enhances and validates maritime data and distributes up to date ship information for the entire Port Community. This is done with the help of the most modern digital techniques.
